Crushing poverty is a reality in coffee growing countries where 70% of the work is performed by women. In solidarity, we are purchasing from women coffee growers in Mexico and Guatemala to support them expand their sales network. Through our partner coffee-broker based in Rosarito, Mexico, the beans in your bag of BEYOND BORDERS COFFEE have crossed many borders, and with your purchase you are supporting women coffee growers!
Via International has worked with women’s small businesses in Mexico for 20 years. Whether beekeepers in Mexicali or caterers in Tijuana, we believe microfinance can play a critical role in promoting sustainable community development. To succeed, small enterprises require investments of capital, time and expertise. Currently 100+ small enterprises are underway.
